0.  Today’s featured website:

bit.ly/thinktube (best YouTube channels for aspiring programmers; you’re welcome!)

Today’s goals:

– Finish coding your designs

– Get ready to use Dreamweaver CS6 and PhoneGapBuild

1.  Finish coding your designs

I will come around and check in with everyone to see what you have and will probably push you to do a little more.

2.  When you’re done (do this on your own):

a.  Sign up for a free Adobe ID (you will need this later when we use PhoneGapBuild with Dreamweaver)

b.  Set up a folder on your computer for your Dreamweaver site:

Go to My Computer (start menu, computer).  Double click on Local Disk (C:), then double click on Users, then Web Student.  In the Web Student folder, you should have a folder called Sites.  If not, make one.  If you have a Sites folder, go into it and create a folder with your name.  Then, go into that folder and create a new folder called Test Mobile site 1.  This is very important for us to have set up in order to use Dreamweaver CS6 efficiently.

c.  Check out this mobile website, Facebook’s first mobile site before launching native apps for Android and Apple.  Why do you think this looks like this and what is the site’s purpose?  Go to https://touch.facebook.com/ on your phone and see what it looks like, or just try shrinking your screen by moving the edges of the browser window around- see what happens.

d.  Watch this video about using Dreamweaver CS6 and PhoneGapBuild (use your own headphones or grab some from the shelf in the back)

e.  Grab a Post-it and write down a reaction to either the mobile website you checked out or the video you just watched.  Have you learned anything new?  Did anything surprise you?

3.  Let’s check out Dreamweaver CS6

Let’s get started by opening Dreamweaver, choosing a jQuery template, and setting up your site.
