1. It’s Friday the 13th! Hopefully no one has paraskevidekatriaphobia.

2. Class seating- I am going to randomly assign seats. We will change seats periodically just to mix things up. We’re a small class and I’d like people to get to know each other. Here we go!

3. You will receive your laptop today. This is the computer you will have all year. Please take good care of it! There are no extra computers- this is it! You will log in to the computer using your username and password, just like you log into the library computers.

4. First design project- name tags. You will create a name tag that will hang on the wall near where you will sit.

You have several choices to do this:

– Markers and paper (on shelf in back)

– Microsoft Paint (on every computer; SAVE the file when you’re done so I can print it)

– Pixlr.com (try Efficient or Playful; SAVE the file when you’re done so I can print it)

– Wordle.net (you will have to take a screenshot when you’re done- let me know so I can make sure we open it and then save it to your computer)

– Anything else you can think of to use online or on your computer. Just please remember to save it because I have to print it out.
