1. Quietly do other work or use the computer (NO sound, please) while students make up quiz from Tuesday
2. Students who need to take quiz:
a. This quiz is a review of HTML. You will do this quiz quietly on your own and you can use two website to help you: the class website, www.mhswebdesign.com, and the W3Schools website, http://www.w3schools.com/.
b. When you’re done with the quiz you can QUIETLY do other work or use your computer. Please turn off the sound so you don’t disturb others.
c. Quizzes count toward 10% of your grade in this class and this is your first official quiz grade.
d. Click here to take the quiz (on our Assignments page)
3. Linking pages (we are doing this together as a class)
a. We began this on Tuesday. You will need two files open in Notepad, your index.html file and your name.html file (ex. rakeem.html).
b. Please also open your index page in Firefox.
c. You will be linking your index page to your other page. To begin, copy/paste or write the following code somewhere on your index page:
<a href=”name.html”>This is a link to name’s page</a>
You will need to change name.html to whatever your file name is and you will need to delete the quotation marks and add them again.
d. Once you have done this check your page in Firefox to see if the link works. Click on it and it should bring you to your other page.
4. Free Mediafire accounts
a. I’d like everyone to sign up for a mediafire.com account. It’s a free place to store your files. That way you can access them from anywhere and if something happens to the file you have on the computer in the Viewing Room you will have a back up on mediafire.com. Click here to sign up for a free mediafire.com account.
b. Once you sign up and log into mediafire.com you can upload your files here and then download them to work on them again wherever you are as long as you have an internet connection. This is a good alternative to a flash drive so you don’t always have to carry one around with you.
c. As we go along in this class you will be having more involved assignments and projects so it will be good to have this account available to save your files or transfer files between school and another computer.
