Special Assignment Choices for School Break!

Choose at least one (1) of the following options to do while school is closed. Make sure you fill out a quick survey about what you did (link below) and email me anything you create (depends on your activity) to get full credit for your work!

Questions:

You can email me at agoldsberry@gmail.com (I might see that faster) or agoldsberry@medford.k12.ma.us (school email address) if you need help or have questions

 Option #1: Practice coding

Pick one of the following:

– Try HTML and CSS exercises on FreeCodeCamp- go to the following link and click on Responsive Web Design Certification. From there, choose Basic HTML and HTML5, Basic CSS, and/or CSS Flexbox: https://www.freecodecamp.org/learn/

– Try any desired tutorials on W3Schools  (choose from the menu on the left; you can do tutorials to review what we’ve already learned about HTML and CSS or try something new, or a little of both)

 Option #2: Create a graphic

Pick one of the choices available at the following link:

– Do a graphic design project- see choices here

 Option #3: Learn JavaScript

Do the first one (the Do this first activity) and then pick one of the following activities:

Do this first: https://www.javascript.com/try

– Go to the following link and click on JavaScript Algorithms and Data Structures Certification: https://www.freecodecamp.org/learn/

– Follow this tutorial to create a game with JavaScript: https://www.codeavengers.com/javascript/100#1.1

– Try any desired tutorials on W3Schools

Option #4: Set up a webpage on your own

– Download Notepad++  if you have a Windows computer (any machine that’s not a Mac) OR use plain old Notepad (under Accessories on a Windows machine). For Macs, try Adobe Brackets .

– Create a webpage about anything you want. Use the lessons and code from our class site (see all lessons here )

– Work flow is still the same- open your code editor on your computer, copy/paste code or write code, save the page as something.html, and launch your code in the browser to preview
