Today’s goal:
- Visually deconstruct website and create graphic
Visually Deconstruct Website
- Choose a website
- Look over the visual design: colors used, page layout, images, videos, animations, graphics, and fonts
- Decide what message the site is trying to convey visually
- Example: https://www.nike.com/us/en_us/
- My observations: Animated photos, sports photography, focus on NBA, light background, lots of images
- Write your observations down somewhere (Google doc, computer desktop sticky note, Notepad or Notepad++, phone, piece of scrap paper). You will hand this into me.
- Choose one word that sums up your website’s visual message. In Nike.com example, it’s “competition.”
- Create a graphic with that one word and a background image. Use https://pixlr.com/editor/ to create your graphic. You should choose a photo that fits your word and style your text (font, color, size) to best show the meaning of your word. Example:
- Get images: https://stock.tookapic.com/, https://unsplash.com/, https://www.pexels.com/, or Bing.com (do image search, then search for free to share and use)
- When done: Let me know so I can look it over. Then email it to agoldsberry@medford.k12.ma.us.
